I have used mine once since I bought it a year ago. I am thinking of doing it again. But only if it doesn't effect the performance of my hard drive. Thank you.

It's no more or less stress on the hard drive than installing any other software. No hard drive lasts forever, but using the restore CD doesn't affect the lifespan.

No, it should not do any damage to your hard drive what so ever. In fact, you should see better performance after you do the restore. Bare in mind that when you do a restore it will completely erase all of your data. If you are having performance issues with your hard drive, you might want to defrag it and see if that fixes the issue. Also, you can get a free registry cleaner from www.download.com Often a cluttered registry can cause your computer to run slow. Finally, if you have too many programs starting on boot up, this will cause your computer to ran slow as well.
