Piano is the first instrument I learned to play. As a matter of fact, the majority of music as a whole is probably first penned out using a piano... Any style of music can be played on it! Learning to play piano is a good segue for people to move into other instruments and styles of music. Keep on playing, and do your thing! A kid I went to high school with is now playng professionally all over the country with various musicians! Look at Van Halen and Bon Jovi, they have keyboardists!

NO! Piano is a beautiful instrument it is not for geeks. Do you think no one in the popular bands of today play the piano? It is an integral part of music.

Look at any rock band with a keyboard player... are they geeks? no. They started playing on a piano at one time.
If you are asking to get out of piano lessons, then consider this: Take your lessons, learn to read music (very well), and then switch to some other 'cool' instrument, like saxophone, or trumpet.

Uh...no, If you can accomplish the piano ,which takes a lot of dicipline, it is an amazing accomplishment. If anybody thinks you're a geek for that, they are complete morons and probably jealous.

3 words Jerry Lee Lewis........don't piano is for geeks me....i wouldn't play it and many people think me a geek.....it takes talent though.
....but Jerry Lee Lewis is awesome and most certainly not a geek and plays the piano, and always has done.

No.I play the piano and I'm not a geek.I've been playing since I was 5 now I'm 19.Wow that was so long ago but still vibrant and fresh in my memory.I gotta go practice.My recital is in 3 days.
