We should be most concerned with Terrorists who exceed their allotted carbon footprint.

Terrorists, they are real and want to destroy our way of life. Climate change is a psuedo-science that has been hijacked for a political movement. Once you learn the truth about climate change you will see that it has been oversensationalized so much its laughable.

Man has had an extremely small effect if ANY on the climate. Maybe 3% can be contributed to man, if that.

Neither. The important factor in life is the global economy. The world is tied together by it and if certain countries have problems the entire globe could fall into a massive depression - worse than the Great Depression of 80 years ago. Such an event would become very violent worldwide.

Terrorism will happen again but you can't worry about it or you'll become an insane recluse (like the 50's when everyone worried about a nuclear war). Climate change takes decades or more to cause problems (that doesn't mean we shouldn't start correcting it now), and I don't give humans enough credit to ruin the planet.

Obviously climate change. The Europeans have dealt with terrorism for decades, they didn't shut their countries down, eliminate rights, or terrorize the rest of the world.

On the other hand, I was very curious to hear about the German police dogs that hunt protest leaders by scent. Wassup with that?

Anyway, a whole island in the Gulf of Bengal has been submerged now, by global warming's rising seas. The seas are continuing to encroach on coasts and will displace millions.

Plus, ponder that global warming is already causing a war, the war/genocide in Sudan, where the aggressors have run out of water....

Thank you for rolling a nice debate.
Both the issues are of great concern but both have different effect in scales ( space, time). For examples, the effect of terrorism is somehow not severe in relation with space and time scales comparing to climate change.

Here also comes the concept of sustainability and irreversibility. If a process is irreversible, leads the planet to danger, it should be handled with utmost care. Climate change is obviously a irreversible process, negligence of each day is counted and leading the planet to a irreversible situation.

Terrorism also a very important issue but not irreversible like climate change.

Our terrorists or their terrorists???
Both terrorism and climate change are long term issues. We should be concerned with both. We need honest answers on what is causing them and what to do about it.
I do agree that it is more of an immediate problem of terrorism.

Terrorists...The earth has been here for billions of years. Global Warming, if that is what you are referring to, is a hoax and the climate change is due to a weather cycle. The Earth may not be here much longer though, if you let the evil powers of our world today acquire nuclear weapons to bomb countries off the face of the earth.

Terrorists!

“Listening to the recent debates among the candidates, monitoring their Websites and reading the poll numbers, one gets the impression that the Republican and Democratic primary electorates are living in two different nations—or the same nation that faces two very different threats. The Republicans want to protect us against Islamist terrorists. The Democrats want to protect us against climate change.” —Michael Barone
