Every time I answer the phone or ring someone I get the Yawns!
And sometimes I can hardly stop yawning. -- until after I get off the phone?
I'm normally not tired or if I am, I'm quite sure I hadn't been continuosly yawning beforehand and it stops after I put the phone down?
Are you yawning now?
I'm serious, this really happens and I feel embarresed and try to yawn away from the phone, (hide it) as I hope they don't think I think they are boring or I'd rather go to sleep? ... because it's not about sleep!
I know it's gotta be psycological, but, Please, any ideas what may cause this in my subconscience, so I can work at learning to stop it?
Does anyone have or know someone that has similar or the same sort of thing?

It does stem from needing more oxygen....Pray before you make a call and ask the Lord to help you relax so you aren't yawning. That nervousness about being on the phone can cause your breathing to change, especially if you don't know the person you are going to be talking to, it can cause nervousness. Now for stage the key is turning it over to the Lord and then shake your hands to turn that nervous energy into a positive good energy for the stage....maybe there is an exercise or something you can do as you're on the phone to alleviate it....you can try shaking the hand that isn't holding the phone... maybe keeping a bottle of water by the phone and taking a drink before you answer the phone or call someone...

Hey Lady E, see if I ever call you again!
Just funnin' with ya.
Perhaps subconsciously the thought of sitting and talking on the phone makes you tired. This may be rude but if I'm on the phone with a long talker like my mom( I love her), I will walk around and do light housework. I can't sit still that long. She knows and doesn't mind.
So maybe just by walking around and getting air circulating through your system will help.
Good luck and I'm sure you haven't offended anyone.

Are you getting enough oxygen? Maybe you are chatting so much that you don't take the time to breathe or maybe as the other person is chatting you are trying to be extra quiet and not breathing regularly. Yawning can be caused by not enough oxygen. Next time you are on the phone make a conscious effort to make sure you are breathing regularly.

Yawning is more physiological than psychological. The primary reason we yawn is to rid our bodies of excess carbon dioxide.

I guess your body just needs more oxygen...like so many other people have said. Maybe you can try regulating your breathing before you answer the phone, and try to breathe at a steady pace.
I don't know if that'll work, but I guess it's worth a shot. =)
God bless.

When you yawn it doesn't necessarily mean you are tired it might mean your body needs more oxygen. The phone could be obstructing your oxygen intake.

Maybe it's a conditioned response. Can you remember perhaps seeing a parent do it a lot as a child? Or, maybe you have some unconscious aversion to telephones?

Well..I've never heard of yawning...BUT...my dad blinks his eyes rapidly while talking on the phone. I don't think he knows he does this..maybe he does. Anyway...it stops after he hangs up the phone....
