As said above if you are on broadband then what you have is all you have got unless your ISP (internet service provider) can give you a faster connection. They will require extra readies for the privilege. There are ways around this depending on the ISP but they aren't easy unless you have insider information etc.
There is a way to make a dial up modem faster. You can get from 56kbs up to 112kbs.
from Start goto Control Panel and select modem and phone options.
You will get a window with your modem name in it
right click and select properties and select the advanced tab
There will be a text window in there.
Type AT&FX in that window.

on way to make your internet speed faster is by downloading google web accelerator
1. go to www.google.com
2. press more and then click on books
3. that will take you to google book search beta, by the maps sign there will be a sign that says more again, click on that sign, and then click on even more.
4. scroll down to the very bottom to the "make your computer work better" section.
5. click on the "web accelerator" and download it
another way to make your internet speed faster is getting dsl or comcast high speed internet...

Web accelerator did nothing for me. I have slow internet speed and I'm apparently getting the 'up to 8mb/s speed'. Sorry for being dpressing. ^-^
I would say to use C-CLEANER regularly, using it to also fix registry errors. Also keep your PC clean of viruses and spyware, which adds to a sluggish performance.

When I had dial up, sometimes I would ask and the provider would give me a new number to use. They won't do it unless you ask. Some of the numbers just have too many people accessing the same number. If you have DSL, power cycling your modem box might help.

You can't. You could only call up the company and ask for better speed, which will cost you more.
