This is my guess but what do you think?
It's been almost 6 months and they have done nothing. No immigration bill, no fix for social security, they are using earmarks and they said they wouldn't, they are being caught in scandals, murtha is threatening fellow congressmen, I could go on and on.

The Democrats took power in 2006 born of a frustrated electorate seeking change. The nation threw a fit and said let's do something different.

Nancy Pelosi et. all promised to run things differently.

When they took power, they forgot all about their promises and instead set upon a path to attempt to destroy what was left of the Republican party and President George W Bush. Investigations, committees and witch hunts do not equal leading.

The promised inclusion got thrust aside for payback. All those years of being in the minority apparently created so much angst that when given a chance to lead the Democrats decided to attack instead.

Look at the war funding bill. They knew Bush would NEVER sign that with a set timetable for withdrawal of our troops. They put that in there strictly for a game of political gotcha. They got their headlines.

Now we have William Jefferson of Louisiana with 16 indictments (a Congressional record). The people who put this bunch in power are mad, they get the fact this makes Democrats look quite the hypocrites in the wake of their "culture of corruption" rhetoric.

Talk about your corruption, Wisconsin very own Dave Obey wants to now slide pork projects into bills after they have been voted on. Whew, now that is some real responsibility. Well they did say they would change earmark spending. They did, they made it sleazier if that was possible.

In an amazingly short time Congress has actually acquired an approval rating LOWER than the President's.

human beings needed the conflict in Iraq to end Democrats backed down i'm a democrat who's ashamed to have Harry Reid as a pacesetter, Pelosi isn't lots greater efficient. Neither have a backbone and that they have not stopped the earmarks, particular pastime administration or achieved something. i do no longer care in the event that they have a slender margin in congress. Use the media be imaginitive get the folk in touch There are no variations between the events anymore Get into place of work, get the investment to stay there, get wealthy from the corporate and particular pastime communities, do their bidding Shaft the individuals and make sure you do no longer hear to them. that for the period of fact sums it up. ..

Too bad we can't all take a 'no-confidence' vote on the new majority, Pelosi, Kennedy, Obey, Reid, etc., etc., etc.

Their campaigning lines have just proved to be legislative lies.

They are obsessed with 'pork barrel spending' and already changed their stance on being open and transparent. More 'tack it on' in the darkness of night. They will not allow earmarks to be disclosed and voted on. Another major lie.

They are proposing the biggest tax increase in history.

They are so anxious for U.S. citizens to support illegal immigrants. I hear now they are loaning/giving money to Latin American Countries to start small business.

If there is the slightest whiff of a scandal about a Republican we can all hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth from the Dems but they are most accepting of Jefferson, his frozen money, bribes etc. In a Dems case they are willing to say 'innocent until proven guilty' but the standard is opposite for Republicans.

They are a dismal failure and accelerating the decline of our Country.

With all the threats and tirades about the President and his "personal war", the democrats have done nothing more than waste time, money, and effort trying to bring him down and neglect the real business of the nation. They knew they didn't have the votes to override the veto, and yet they went ahead - mostly for show -no substance. Makes you wonder,
for whom do they think they work, anyway?

Because they are idiots - just like the President. Our nation is run by corporate bought morons. We have two useless parties: one with no ideas (republicans) and the other with bad ideas (democrats).

We need a solid third party choice who will not bow down to big business and who will make an immediate change in Washington. Sadly, it doesn't appear the current crop of weeds - err - candidates will give us such a person.

Because as usual the current Dems since the 1970's only care about being in power not doing anything of benefit for the country. With the leadership team they have we are lucky that in 2008 their rating will be in the 20's.

I agree it's because they have done nothing, except bash Bush but that's not new. I swear you would think they lost in 06. The funny thing is watching them try to explain it usually saying "Congress's rating is always low" or "they will bounce back" never mind that they are the lowest ratings ever, lower than any Republican held Congress. It's just hysterical, they love polls except when they're not in their favor, then polls don't matter.

They were elected to primarily for two reasons. To clean up the corruption and get us out of Iraq. They've made no progress of any kind on either front. Worse, they've added to the corruption and folded on every standoff on Iraq.

So? Congressional approval ratings are ALWAYS lower than Presidential approval ratings.

Look at the Congressional approval ratings for the last 20 years. I bet you would be hard pressed to ever find it over 50% at any given time.

Because historically, Congress usually has an approval rating about half of what the presidents approval rating is.

The oddity here is that the President only has 5 points on congress. That fact indicates that the president is most unfavorable with the people.
