I love to read and book shops hold a special thrill for me. I enjoy having the book to peruse through at my leisure. Is the e-book experience as enjoyable and reliable for finding what you really want to read?

I have bought 8 e-books on knitting and crafts and am happy with 6 of them. The other 2 were very poorly written, seem like the author started to write things, forgot where they were and just continued on. One has 3 patterns that are only partly listed (one left out the yarn and size needles to use, gauge and measurements for the different sizes)and it took many emails before I could get replacements or errata pages. I would definitely ask to see sample pages of any e-book before buying it. Since I started doing that I have been able to pass on some that were just as bad.

I have used e-books for my schooling. I was able to print it out and put it in a binder. I think it is a wonderful way to cut the cost of school books, however, if you are just browsing for entertainment purposes, I am not sure that looking on-line would be much different, however, the physical process is cut out (flipping through pages and a manufactured book does have a more appealing look to it). If you know what you want I would say that e-books is great, however, if you like the hunt, I would stick with what you know. Hope this helps!

I have used e-books from thundercloud.net and I find them very enjoyable. I think they are just as easy to use as the hardcovers. I also have downloaded some free recipe e-books and love to use them also. The only thing about this kind of book is that you will need to load it on CD or DVD, so you will always have a copy of it, just in case your computer crashes. Happy Reading and God Bless!!! susyq1945

Without a doubt, ebooks are the best method of getting instruction in almost anything you can imagine. You will find writing quality varies from writer to writer but you can learn something from all of them. I have found that most are done in Adobe .pdf format and this makes them ideal to download and sync with my Palm for an easy read.I have written about six of my own and have found them to be very popular. I use Mobipocket on my Palm Pilot and I like it. It's easy to use while standing in long lines or on public transportation.
