4x^2 + 28x -32 = 0
4(x^2 + 7x - 8) = 0
4(x - 1)(x + 8) = 0
x = 1, -8

divide thru by 4
x² + 7x - 8 = 0

(x + 8)(x - 1) = 0

x = 1, x = -8
