I have a problem written as "5x - 45xy."

The directions for it say "Write in factored form. (Pull out the greatest common factor)"

I don't know how I would get the answer for this problem. Could someone explain to me how I would get the answer?
((you can give the problem answer in your general answers, if this helps to explain it))

Thanks.

5x is the greatest common factor

therefore

5x - 45xy

it would be 5x(1-9y)
find the GCF first. then factor it. the question would be in un-distributive property form.
