Competition in the DFW area is almost as strong as Houston for auto services. Lot's of companies will make a 'sweat heart' deal to get your business. The free loaner is to be expected, almost all reputable shops in the DFW area offer them. The 0 deductible is also legal, they will just put it in their books as a 'special offer' or the like. If their work is good and they're not planning to overcharge your insurance company, I'd take the deal.
Hey, if you feel unethical about it, split the money you saved and share it with the insurance company.

I can't weather it is OR it is NOT legal but it is often done. I once had an accident and the body shop and I had an agreement that I won't have to pay for the deductible. It is possible that if the insurance company heard about this, that it was they would be paying.

I don't know and I didn't ask. Some times it is just better to play dumb and let it go.

In the end I didn't get a rental but I didn't pay the deductible.

The free rental car is legit. As for the other, you are going to have to sign a piece of paper saying you paid more than you actually did by the amount of the deductable. Then the shop uses that paper to collect what they actually want to be paid.

Yes.it's fine for them to save your deductible and give you a free loaner. The insurance company doesn't care.My concern would be the overall quality of the repairs as with any situation.

you're no longer paying $1000 you're basically paying $500. complete damages have been 1872. Your coverage company paid $1372. That leaves $500 left to pay on the damages. you basically pay $500 to the fix save no longer the two the fix save and the coverage company.

call your insurance agent on your deductible and also give them the name of the autobody shop you took your car to and see if there is anything they can do.
