How do I restart modem on my laptop for faster internet on June 16, 2007, as they promise?

AT&Tsent a notice promising that my computer will be 3x times faster on June 16, 2007 I am instructed to restart my modem for this to work;how do I do that?

They'll be sending you (if not already sent) a software update for your modem. For it to take effect, you have to power cycle the modem. Just unplug the modem for 30 seconds, then plug it back in. Let it acquire the signal and you should be good to go.
