Is it legal to put ipod format videos on my website for download?
Not the ones that you can buy on iTunes but for example performances of famous musicians that aired on TV. E.g. Mariah Carey’s 2006 Grammy performance.

A "clip" may be permissible "fair use" depending upon how long it is, why you're providing it (i.e. news commentary, etc) if you're charging for it, and whether you're taking the heart of the underlying work. However, in general, copying stuff from TV and reposting it is a copyright violation.

So, maybe six seconds of the performance might be arguably OK, but the whole thing not likely. Seek advice of a trained, competent, copyright attorney licensed in your jurisdiction, since the "fair use" defense is so fact specific.
