The form will mainly try to determine your character and the questions will be like "give 3 examples of situations in your life where you worked well as part of a team" and "give examples of bad situations you have experienced and how you dealt with it at the time"... they will be testing your morals etc. So get thinking about your life experiences that you think may be relevant. Think of good deeds you have done etc. My bro is a police man and i helped him a little with his application (the grammar side of things lol .. no lies on there!) He has been a police man for 2 yrs now and its change his world for the better and he loves it! You will have an amazing social life and be well looked after! I wish i had the balls to do it myself! Best of luck! xx

It all depends on the police department. When I applied a few years back, the first step was to fill out paperwork for a background check...drug history, school history, work history, medical history, bank records and references...they want to know EVERYTHING, so be prepared to spill it...

Next there was an interview process. A panel of officers, officials, interviewers from the department will grill you in all manner of interview style questions ranging from 1-3 hours. Dress nice and be confident.

You'll also have to pass a psych evaluation. Questions like 'have you ever thought about suicide? Do you have recurring nightmares?' Remember that they're trying to determine if they think you are mentally stable enough for the position. Hope this helped...good luck!

If they are anything like the sample 'entrance test' questions recently published in the national press, they will be scandalously simple - certainly not searching. [My neighbour said her cat took the exam and passed for accelerated promotion to Inspector!]
