It is an interesting and emerging technology. Basically it is using atomic and molecular machines to do some type of work. One big and interesting potential use is using injectable "Nanobots" to deliver medicines in the blood stream, to fight tumors, repair tissue, the list goes on there. It is currently used in non medical applications, and really is in very very early stages of developement .
