Who is William Synge?

I keep looking for a biography on this guy and all i keep getting is a guy named John Synge. Any ideas?

There is an entry int the Oxford Biography Index for a William Synge who is described as a diplomatist and author who lived from 1826 to 1891.

John Millington Synge (1871-1909) was an Irish author, whose best known work is probably The Playboy of the Western World, although he also wrote extensively based on folklore and legends.
