It seems more and more policies advocated by our leaders in Washington D.C. have nothing to do with doing the will of the people or looking out for the interests of the american people, but more to do with preserving the interests of a few, or the interests of other countries.

What is the cause of this? and how can we get back to representative government in the USA...before its too late?????

In the Republic of USA, we hire like-minded representatives to study the issues for us and make educated judgements.
If we feel our representatives do not act in our best interest, we do not re-elect them.

The politicians are not yet fully aware that the american public is beginning to catch on to them. They believe they still have the ability to cover their crimes.
Once they do catch on, it will be too late for them, they will already be out of office.

The Cure: Vote them all out of office. If you think your congressman or senator has been doing a fantastic job and they have been in office 10+ years, they are probably not really representing your interests. Think about it. All the leaders have seniority. The leaders make all the rules.
Get rid of the leaders! Send Mr. Smith to Washington.

It has to do with all the politicians being controlled by the vast gobs of cash the corporations throw at politicians.

This can be address by not voting for the guy who has the flashiest ad, best 3 word slogan, or the most TV time.

Vote for a guy based on the issues no matter his campaign budget or if you think he will win....and if he sucks vote him out of office

Quite simply it is because our government has forgotten it's role in our society. Our government officials are supposed to serve us, not the other way around. Washington has become too bloated and too powerful. And we have let it happen by becoming an apathetic citizenry. If the people of our country don't start getting educated and begin to take action, it is only going to get worse.

It is nothing new, true, but it has reached a critical point. The greatest change and harm has been done by Special Interest Groups and their huge lobbying efforts. If these are outlawed and we elect responxive statesmen then the system may once again begin to function.

Politicians are not responsible to the citizens of their territory. They are responsible to the people that give them money to get elected next time.
Term limits and severe limits on campaign spending would improve the process.

Government of the Corporations, by the Corporations, for the Corporations. Americans having true representation in D.C. died when the corporate suits figured out that politicians could be bought.

I am with you! This mexico loving president of ours has finally pissed me off! I am calling and calling and emailing and emailing. I am letting them all know that I will not support them or their political parties. They care about their job and money and if they think they will lose those things they MIGHT change their ways. Otherwise, we are just screwed.

This web-page has an EASY way to notify the swing voters on the immigration bill that you do NOT want amnesty!

The problem, of course, are the businesses that support the political leaders with money. They want amnesty for the workers, so they can keep working. AND the immigration bill gives amnesty to employers who have been using illegals. It really all boils down to money.

We all voted them in office! You can blame everybody! Both parties lie to get in office. Just start voting against the 2 party system, and start voting for a 3rd party.
