i have a fx 5200 graphics card with 128 mb memory & with my onboard graphics i can set it up to 256 & i have 1gb of ram installed, So my question is is my onboard graphics gonna serve me better then my fx 5200 graphics card ??

The onboard graphics may be faster (depending upon whether it's a slow Intel chipset or something like GeForce 6100 which is becoming pretty common) but it's generally better to have a seperate card and not lose system memory.

If your onboard video is Intel, go with the FX5200 until you can get a better card (something like a 7600GT)

5200 is much much better. The onboard will take away from your system memory (shared).
