We just loved a handpainted picture from the kids. You can have then paint with shaving cream. Something that you most likely have in the house. Put a few drops of ink in it ( like the kind for rubber stamping. If you don't have any gloves use plastic sandwiches bags. Let them paint on paper and then take it off with like a spatula~ It is quick and fun for all

I made my hubby a pillow case for father's day. If I could atttach a pic on here I would to show you. I also made him a scrapbook card and put our kids pics on it. They were riding their Power Wheel. I put new driver stickers on it, and titled it, "We promise we are not trying to drive Mom crazy"!. Funny, huh. He is in Afghanistan so I have to be creative on the gifts I send.
The pillow case I bought some Microfiber fabric from walmart, and some yardage ribbon, and some special printable fabric stuff. They sell it by the iron on or by the sew on. I bought a 12"x16" pillow, you will only need 1/2 yard for this. And 1 yard each of 2 different ribbons. I printed out a pic of my kids and ironed it on the fabric. But before ironing, cut out your piece do about 1/2 inch extra on the 16 inch sides and a couple on the 12 inch sides, so you can fold it over or attach a zipper, and use sewing scissors and buy a sharper thing for them too. place the fabric over the pillow to adjust it evenly, then carefully remove it with the pic on it, then follow the directions to iron it on into place. Next put the fabric on the pillow and arrange the ribbon over the pic how you like it, i cut out some people in the background before i ironed on the pic. O.k. now use 1/2 inch stich witch, or any kind that is a bit smaller than your ribbon, and use that to iron your ribbon into place. it makes it easier to sew on straight. After you have sewed on the ribbon, do it slowly and focus, so you do not mess up, put the 2 pillow case pieces together the pic side on the inside and sew a straight stich all the way around with an opening. If you want a zipper, leave the ends open then sew the nonzipper end first. For the zipper part, fold the fabric down as far as you want iron it down then fold it again and iron it down, then stich it. Then attach the zipper.

If you can sew you can make him a wallet, it doesn't have do be leather it could be out of khaki fabric with that fabric stiffener iron-on stuff, or if he's the sentimental type than you could go with a realy nice picture of all just you and him framed and stuff... of course that's not really a craft

My daughter made my husband a" Best Dad Hands Down" t-shirt in pre school (her hand prints in fabric paint and the teachers writing in fabric marker) and he still has it (shes 10). HGTV's web site has instructions for a duct tape wallet that is a riot-- also family fun mag. usually has great ideas. Have fun!!!

Pillow cases are a great idea, especially if you can get photo transfers of you and/ or your brothers & sisters put on it. It's a simple process...
I think most dads would want somebody ELSE to BBQ on Father's Day! ! =)
