Was it wrong to flip the bat like that? I mean he is a pitcher and won't have many opportunities to hit homeruns.

I was at the game last night, and it really didn't seem like a big deal. The guy is a pitcher, who knows how many opportunities he will ever have to hit another home run. It was a great moment and all of the Dodgers fans had no problem with it, it was only the lame Mets fans who were upset about it. Regardless it was a really good game, and that "bat flip" shouldn't distract people from what happened. I mean come on, three home runs were hit on three consecutive pitches!

Was Hong Chih Kuo's bat flip last night against the New York Mets classless?

Trust me! He didn't do that on purpose. According to his high school baseball team coach, Kuo often did the similar bat flip in the past (he was a strong hitter back in Taiwan). That's his style! However, I guess he won't do that pose again after the criticism.

There was a lot of class in the bat flip, it was just all "lower". The Dodgers are my team but I didn't like to see that. I don't believe you should ever do anything to "show-up" a player on the other team especially when it's your first major league homerun. He should have laid the bat down gently and ran around the bases as fast as he could and get to the dugout. He's lucky he didn't get one at his head the next time he came to the plate.

10 years ago, it would have been considered classless, but ESPN made it cool. Even Vin Scully, Vin Scully!!!!!!, was admiring the bat toss.

Maine should have brought some Chin music on Kuo's next time up, but that's not how they play the game anymore.

It's certainly not very classy, but players do it and its part of the game. He probably should have been hit in his next at-bat. Last week, LoDuca flipped his bat during the game against the Phillies when he hit the third home run in a row, and he wasn't hit in his next at-bat. So yes, it is wrong, but its part of the game, but in general pitchers should retaliate.

Gary Cohen and Ron Darling whined about it incessantly during the Mets broadcast, without ever mentioning that LoDuca had done the same thing in the same circumstance last week.

Talk about "homers".

Honestly, the Mets have absolutely no right to complain about anything, the way Reyes and Delgado go into that elaborate victory dance routine when one of them hits one out.

it gets me so mad that the pitcher actually got a home run. What has happened to the Mets? most pitcheres could'nt hit a home run if it strarred them in the face. How could the Mets lose another game, another series. They have to win to night. they have to go off and face the yankees with a win behind them.

I thought it was funny as hell. The only thing that would have made it better is if he would have stood there with his mouth hanging open and had to be reminded to run. If he'd done that, even the Mets' dugout would have cracked up.
