i've heard so many rumors about 'steve', the former 'blue's clues' star! what actually happened to him?

i heard he left the show to join a band. And I'm pretty sure he's not dead.

On October 26th, 2006, Steve Burns released two new songs on his new MySpace page that will appear on his next album, which will be titled Deep Sea Recovery Efforts. He is currently featured in a video on the Jack's Big Music Show website, performing "I Hog the Ground" with Steven Drozd of Flaming Lips.
In 2007, Burns landed the lead role of Otto Granberry -- a likeable, flesh-eating vampire -- in the undead office comedy, Netherbeast Incorporated.

Oh I heard he commited suicide....is that not true?? I hope it's not. It would be a shame so many young actors commiting suicide. I cried when I heard Jonathan Brandis (remember the show Sea Quest?) killed himself and I didn't find out about that until 2 years after the fact.

he is not dead, he comes back to the show every once in a while for special episodes. I heard that he was asked to leave because of a media thing about him doing drugs (I think it was pot) but I dont know that part for sure

According to a 15 minute documentary on Nickelodeon, titled "The 10 years of Blue", Burns left Blue's Clues because he was losing his hair and he did not want kids to know he was going bald.
