but on one condition: you have a random chance of ending up trading places with ANY American - could be Donald Trump or Bill Gates, could be a homess person or an Appalachian struggling to make ends meet. You have an equal chance to "win" the life of any of your 300,000,000 fellow Americans.

Would you take the chance? Why or why not?

I guess this question is trying to determine how well off we think we are compared to the average American, or how well off we think the average American is.

I post it in politics because "class issues," and their implications for legislation and policy, come up often.

Yes, I assume people would not want to leave their family, friends, etc. to live someone else's life - I'm talking economics and social position, mostly. Work with me here, people!

So . . . what say you?

Thanks!

I would NOT take the chance. Here's the problem. As a conservative, I'm happy with my life. It's not about money or fame. It's about being happy with what you have. I'm the richest person in the country right now. I don't need somebody else's wealth to make my life complete. Liberals on the other hand, will automatically feel as though their lives are worthless because somebody else has something they do not. Liberalism is a sickness with no cure.

No. I am an educated Proletariat with a beautiful, educated Agrian wife and we are able to give money to the Church and to the poor, make ends meet, and we have a good life. I would not trade with anyone for any reason.

I don't think I would take the chance, because I would never know whose life I was going to get. Also, I really don't want Donald Trump's hair.:)

I'm in a pretty low class of Americans financially, but the small number of those who have it worse than me have it really bad so I think I'd stay put=>

No...money does not mean happiness. Some of the richest people in the world also seem like the most unhappy.

No. I'm quite comfortable in my middle class status.

Plus, I'm not a gambler. Wouldn't want to risk being worse off financially.

No I would not trade places with any one. I have a happy and full life. I like myself and I love my family and friends. I like being me.

No I want to trade bank accounts. That's much easier. If you have nothing, the worse you can get is nothing. Well ... nothing from nothing is still nothing.
