I just wanted to add that getting into Pharmacy can be a lot more difficult. Maybe it depends on your school but at my university it was one of the most competitive programs. Just something to consider.

Well that is a hard one; Pharmacy is paying very well right now but there are a lot of people in that (and going to school for it as well). English is always useful because you can become a teacher or a professor. You have to decide on what you would rather do. However English might be the best route seeing how in the future there are going to be a lot of people who need to know English and not just immigrants.

Maybe major in pharmacy and minor in English

This is a difficult decision, and only you can make it. If you major in pharmacy, you will most likely be working in a retail situation. You will be working on your feet 8 hours a day and will, at times, have to deal with difficult customers. On the other hand, if a jerk comes in on Tuesday, you can probably be sure he won't be back on Wednesday.

If you choose English or education, you'll probably wind up as a teacher. Your hours with students will be shorter than the pharmacist with customers, but your homework might well be longer. Also, if you have a jerk third period, he's going to be back tomorrow and still a jerk.

Anybody who can get a college degree can probably learn enough subject matter to teach somebody something, but if you don't love kids, you will hate it and be very unhappy.

Finally, if you decide to major in English, learn to start the word with a capital letter.

What do you want?

If you want to be a pharmacist, you should get the pharmacy major, and apply to a college. A pharmacist does pay very well as a career, compared to a lot of English majors.

But it's not worth it if you don't enjoy it.
