No I have no problem with either liberals or conservatives. I do have a problem with extremists which by your list you may qualify.

Idealism isn't necessarily separate from realism. One can actually be both. Of course as an extreme conservative you only see the world in black and white and so one must be only on or the other with no shades in between.

Cup half empty? How can one be an idealist and see the cup half empty. The idealist is an optimist and thus sees the cup as half full. It is the pessimist, the one who has no hopes or dreams who sees the cup as half empty.

I know of no one other than those directly involved who wants to keep drugs on the streets. This is an unfair and untrue assessment of liberals. You know it too but just want to bait people.

Global warming is real. Even your god George W. Bush has admitted it. Over 80 percent of the scientific world in all countries world wide agree to some extent that global warming is real. How it got that way and what to do about it seems to be a political issue with supporters and detractors of all ilk.

I disagree with point 5. You have no evidence of it. Again this is just a piece clap trap you know nothing about. Probably some garbage from one of the conservative hate radio big mouths like Rush, Ann, or Sean.

Democratic president Bill Clinton modified the welfare system making it more difficult for one to get welfare. Not everyone on welfare is a slacker. Obviously you have, again, not done your homework. Have you ever really gone down to the welfare office and talked to people? Have you ever talked to a welfare recipient? No, you have not. You are going by the rhetoric that you hear on conservative hate radiio and other right slanted media. Before you profess to be such an expert on such matters I suggest you actually check things out and not just regurgitate what others tell you.

I have no problem with liberals or conservatives but I do have issues with those who think they know all about the other side and spout loudly their charges and obviously know nothing. I have a problem with people like you.

1. Actually, WE are the realists, since we knew from the very beginning that the war in Iraq was a bad idea. I know that many conservatives would deny this, but we have been proven correct. After all, Iraq has now become a hotbed of terrorist activity. Not only that, but it has actually been reported that the war has exacerbated the global terrorist situation, since the war has become a cause celebre among Islamic fundamentalists and a whole new generation of terrorists is now being bred.
2. Our cup is really half-full. In fact, we have so much faith in humanity that we support legislation that would provide education and opportunities for advancement for the not-so-wealthy who would otherwise not have a chance.
3. Two words: Rush Limbaugh.
4. The vast majority of the scientific community agrees that global warming is very real and is caused by humans. Not only that, but even Bush has admitted to the fact that global warming is real.
5. Read number 4.
6. Two words: corporate welfare.

I am so happy to be an Independent. I am not Republican or Democrat. I do not want to stray right or left. I want to go straight. I love liberals and those other ones (i can't think of the name right now- conservists... maybe). I just don't believe everything they say.

Man, I love the answers today! People are being so nice!

Unlike certain questioners....

EDIT:

And continuing to read the intelligent answers below mine...I remain impressed. You guys and gals are awesome!

Have a great day! I think I will leave my little Utopian world, go drink a half-empty glass of liquor, collect my welfare check and food stamps, go to my science class taught by Sheryl Crow, re-fill my pipe, and finally contemplate the effects of sending millions of tons of pollution into the atmosphere.

Funny, to me this sounds like the republicans...like letting in & allowing & rewarding illegal entry into this country. That is much worse than someone's musical taste, don't you think?

If ANYONE has ever looked at the science of global warming, it has happened to this earth many times in the course of it's life. While mankind in general hasn't helped much, we have NOT *caused* it to happen.
That is what happens when you study religion so closely that you consider science to be the devils work.

American, right?

While you guys have elections, the rest of the world watches in wonder.

How can one countries election process be full of so much rubbish. If you weren't a first world country with power it would be funny.

I have the same problem with the Libs as I have with the conservatives. They both oppose freedom. They both want to take what I have earned by honest toil and give it to their supporters. The conservatives will give it to the corporations, and the liberals will give it to the unworthy mob.

The conservatives want to decide what beverages I can consume, what recreational activities I can participate in, what books I can read and what movies and television shows I can watch.

The Liberals want to decide what kind of car I can buy, where my kids go to school, what carbon output is permissible, how much money I can earn, and how much of what I earn I can keep.

Neither of them want FREEDOM, yet they both claim to honor it. Its a joke. Thats why I'm a Libertarian. I don't agree with them completely but at least they have principle.

idealists who believe the cup is half empty? how does this even make sense?

we don't want drugs on the street, we want them in our bongs.

yes, we note the planet is warming. your point?

um, the vast majority of scientists believe global warming is a problem and is manmade. and in fact, NASA's whacky administrator Griffin has finally admitted global warming is real and is manmade, but he said, 'aren't we arrogant to say it's bad? why is this the ideal climate?"

another person at NASA said he was so shocked by that answer he thought it was a joke. alas, yes, but the joke's on us.

are you even aware that our own pentagon issued a report on global warming saying they are deeply troubled by what's happening to the gulf stream, worried that england could be frozen in mere years???

are you aware that welfare was provided by our founding fathers to the widows and orphans? no one thinks it's fine for people to be slackers and live off others (except Jesus, I think he did advocate that); liberals just know that if you visit upon children the sins of their parents, it is not only unjust, but it makes your city less safe, too.

Although I hate political extremism - whether liberal or conservative, I have a particularly strong aversion to liberal proponents because they seem to want to turn the USA into a socialist state. When citizens look to their governments to solve their problems they become dependent on that government and loose their liberty. You can't have it both ways. I don't understand why liberals don't see that. It's mystifying to me.
