2128, maybe, if it's a Thursday, and there's nothing good on the TV at the time.

As the Hispanic population pushes the blacks into an even smaller percentage of the population the chances for a black are shrinking. Perhaps OBama will make it in 2012 but if that does not happen then forget it. I personally like Him but want more information on His positions.

Every President since George Washington has been a white protestant male except for JFK who was infact Catholic. This trend has gone on for hundreds of years. Until whites are not as big of a majority as they are now, i can't see a black man becoming president. It is just human nature to associate yourself with someone who looks more like you.
That being said, as the hispanic population rapidly grows, i can see a hispanic president before a black president. Its also just a matter of time until a woman becomes president. I think people are more open and tolerant than what they were 50 years ago.

Collin Powell would have a chance. Especially since he has snubbed his old bosses for lying about the war we are in today! When you say americans are racist, you may be right...a lot of popular black americans are extremely racists as are so-called mexican, cuban, and generally hispanic americans. Once you are an american, nothing else should preceed that distinction.....NO such thing as mexican american...you are an american OR a mexican...can't be both...it's wrong to pledge an allegience to another country when you are american!
CS - makes a good point....look what happened to New Orleans after Katrina.....

Of course I would vote for a good black candidate. I have wished that Secretary Rice would run. I think she would be outstanding. My problem with Obama as far as I can see, he really hasn't accomplished anything as a senator yet.
I am not interested in race or even party affiliation. I am looking for a candidate that has a strong moral compass and actually says something, who proposes change with an actual plan, not a whole lot of double talk.

I think you are racist for asking this question. Im white, and I will probably vote for Barak, who is black, and dont give me this "he isnt black enough" bs, because hes black, period. PEOPLE are judgemental and wary by default, and there is a lot of past behind the african american community, some people will see that, and some people will see a good candidate...but i believe that more people will see a good candidate than a person overcomming opression as you tend to believe. Basically, the white guy isnt always trying to hold a brother down. Get over it.

As soon as we get one who puts the American Constitution and the American people FIRST and stops making RACE and BIG Government the ONLY issues.
In other words, one who is color-blind and conservative!
But then the racist blacks that dominate the liberals won't vote for him.

I would elect a black president if he were the best candidate, and I do mean he, in a heartbeat. What I would not elect is a woman, and I am one, and white at that.
Medieval Europe was one up on us on that. Color didn't matter to them. Color shouldn't matter to us. That it does is a tragedy for America.

No, i'm no longer surprised by utilizing this. i'm surprised by utilizing how obsessed all of us in the international seems to be with the alleged crimes & misdemeanors of LIBERALS. even regardless of the undeniable fact that many human beings can no longer extremely define the term too nicely. i think of that's in all likelihood a tribute to the ability & recognition of in fact "liberal" financial and social techniques, from the recent Deal via a minimum of the early Nineteen Seventies, that "liberals" are robotically denounced by utilizing: a million. Ron Paul libertarians 2. classic Republican elites 3. the far precise Koch Brothers 4. the previous John Birch Society far precise 5. anarchists & communists & black nationalists & socialists like me 6. the Jewish & Christian non secular precise 7. and the KKK form racists that's in basic terms spectacular to me that all of us seem to attack the "liberals" as much as, or greater desirable than, we difficulty to attack one yet another. could that's that the "liberals" are doing something good, to get all this grief from maximum of diverse political fringe communities? -- democratic socialist (no longer a liberal, relatively)

Last question first:
"Are most Americans are racist by default?"
Yes - black, white, brown, red, yellow...we're all racist in the sense that we want our own kind in power.
Back to your first/second/third question:
Yes...but unfortunately, Colin Powell is NOT running.
