My wife and I will be going to Vegas after I get back from Iraq in Septmeber. We have booked Hooters because it is cheap and location. We have been to Vegas twice before, but always stayed at the MGM which we loved. I have been to Hooters casino, but haven't seen the rooms. Should we stay with our Hooters booking or just splurge and spend more to stay somewhere new like Paris, Monte Carlo, or New York New York?? We want a fun pool scene with decent accomidation. Thanks!!

We usually stay at the MGM but decided to come in one night early and refused to pay MGM prices (we use amex points and stay for free) so we booked a room at Hooters which is right across the street.

When we got in at 10 pm there were no non smoking king rooms left even though we had reserved one. We agreed to settle for a room with two beds (we assumed queens). When we got into our room it was great.... great view of the pool which had several "Bon fires" going, clean, comfy beds, just overall a nice room except for the fact that they were double beds.

We called the front desk and told them that although the room was nice it wasn't acceptable as we were not thrilled about sleeping in seperate beds and a full just wasn't going to get it. The manager called back within 5 minutes and told us somebody would be up to help us move. The bellhop was there within 2 minutes of hanging up and moved us to our new room.

The new room had no view but it was a really nice suite with a super comfy bed and nice decor. It wasn't the Rio but it didn't have a Rio or MGM pricetag attached either.

Hooters casino is a little loud (even at 9am the music was loud with no crowd) and we've only lost there. The DAMN Resturant is decent eats if you don't want typical Hooters food.

Back to the rooms, they're decent rooms. Kind of beach type theme with palm tree type fabric and light colored furniture. Stay with your plans to save your money for other fun stuff besides an over priced room.

Happy Hootering!

I guess I'm a good person to answer this question because I just stayed there. Location is good, you'll be across the street from the MGM grand. Hotel room wasn't extravagent, but it was spacious, clean and housekeeping was prompt. If you have an aversion to Orange or the Hooters brand then you should stay away, but otherwise its worth it. The pool's nice too, good beach feel. How much time in Vegas do ya spend in the hotel room anyway. stay there, play wherever you like with what you saved.

The Hooters Hotel and Casino is formerly the old San Remo Hotel and Casino, but it's been given a complete makeover. I haven't stayed there, but I've played there. The casino floor reminds one of a Hooters restaurant with the hardwood floors and tacky wood accents throughout the casino. If you're at home at Hooters, you'll be at home at Hooters Hotel and Casino. It's NOT the MGM, but you can stay at Hooters to save the cash, and if Hooters isn't your style, you can just cross Tropicana Ave and you'll be at the MGM.

The San Remo was a cheap hotel and casino. Hooters took it over, did a little cosmetic work, but it is still a cheap hotel and casino. The Hooters girls are just in tight tee shirts and shorts. Sure, they are cute but the cocktail waitresses at the other casinos are just as nice. They are just trading on the Hooters trademark. It is good, clean redneck fun. If you want a cheap hotel and casino, Hooters is fine. It is nothing special nor is it anything extremely sexy. It is certainly no competition for Belaggio or Wynn but it is cheap and fun.

autn and uncle stayed there... and i hit a jackpot on their floor when i visited them! =)

Its nothing fancy or over the top. It is on a side street. However, if family were coming to visit and thats where the special price was, I wouldn't tell them not to stay there. Its a room. Its clean. Its got some decent food.

North more along the strip is better, but this isn't bad at all.

I prefer Treasure Island or The Mirage.
They're both in the middle of the strip. We walked one direction towards the Luxor on one night and then walked the other direction on the second night and then hung out close to The Mirage on the third. We had no need for a car and LOVED the view of both directions of the strip from our window. We could even look down to see the pirate show at TI.
