I have been told that if my son have a high C average in high school this will not hurt him when he apply to colleges. Is this true?

it will but not that much because his average still is around the C's

To paraphrase a quotation: A C is a C is a C. This is an average mark. You're probably not aiming for the Ivy League with this low level of achievement, so aim for a community college for the first two years. If you son does better in that time, he can transfer to a more prestigious institution.

Convert the grade over to an average, of course, the higher the number, you know.
Looks better on a transcript. But also use, the essay and the interview as a help to enter college.

Ususallly the more enthuseaism, the better.
