she is on a biz trip in another country and she told me that won't cash her check over there and all she needs from me is my name and address.

If she is really is your friend, she already has your name and address.

If you cash the check, only do it at her bank branch, and wait 30 business days before sending her the money.

That way, if it is a scam, you won't be out the money.

But I think it is a scam, don't give her any real information.

The problem with friendship is that we think the person who is our friend will never do us harm. This goes on even when the friend is being taken and when you mix friendship with money real problems can occur. You friend knows you name and address. If they need more than that the "scam" radar goes up. Another thing I have to add is if the friend can go to another country then they can afford other avenues to get money than you. Lastly if there is an embassy which it should be then the embassy in that country should be able to help with the check cashing problem.

yes. you will deposit the check in your account, wire them the funds, the check will come back as fraudulent and you will need to repay the money to the bank. don't do it.
