It's ok in small amounts. Pregnant women shouldn't eat much fish because of the mercury levels. Bigger fish have higher levels. If you do eat tuna, make sure it's the all white kind and again, maybe no more than once a week.

Actually... eating fish is an excellent way to boost babie's brain development. There are extremely small amounts of mercury in tuna... so I wouldn't worry so much about everyone crying about mercury. The only things you MUST stay away from are sushi and shellfish. Having a tuna sandwich is fine. I mean, have you ever known of anyone having a child with problems because they ate tuna? I haven't.

You can have about one can of tuna fish a week but from what i understand you shouldnt eat fresh tuna. The levels of murcury i guess are higher in the fresh fish. You also cant eat sea bass and swordfish.

Yes, just limit to 2 tins or steaks per week! Speak to your midwife if still confused.
