If you're a top contributor, have you experienced hostility because you are?
That's just plain dumb and shallow.. i don't really care about the orange tag.

not something to be proud of coz yahoo can take it away from me anytime. i just feel a little weirded out by someone who replied to one of my qs and she was mad coz i have the orange tag LOL.. too ridiculous

I don't even know how I got it. We don't get a raise to have it so I really don't think about it much. Anyone that gets jealous of that little tag is very very bored and/or disturbed.

Haven't had any real hostility, maybe a little resentment if they don't think you deserve it for some reason.
Most people are just very, very, very curious - which is natural, but you can get a bit tired of people going through your answers and best answers and then e-mailing you about the results of their assiduous research. As a result, I've put my Q/A on "private".

I've never had a comment one way or the other, though I'm happy that I've generated enough "Best Answers" to qualify.
I have noticed a couple of prolific questioners whose patterns of awarding "Best Answers" suggests that they try to give those extra points to people who do not yet have an orange badge. I think they are the exception rather than the rule.

I used to have one until they changed the rules because too many people had them. I don't care and I bear you no ill will for having one. I have a Y!A fleece jacket for Level 7! Lol and I don't think anyone cares.

Don't resent top contibutors. Can't help feeling jealous of the orange tag though cause it's my favourite colour.
