so he'll go to bed between 8-9 and always wake up for the day at 7... Some nights he'll wake up twice to eat, some only once, some he'll wake up every 3 hours just to wake up! But ALWAYS gets up for the day at 7... Do you think he's getting enough sleep at night with his sporatic night wakings?

i have a blanket over his window so he doesnt wake up with daylight, it used to be playtime at 6am!!!

his naps are still weird, he gets about 3-6 hours of naps during the day..

My girl is 3.5 months & about the same, goes down @ 8 gets up @ 5 or 6, though she just has started waking during the night...so I've started rice cereal. On the nights I feed it to her she'll sleep through the night completely.
She doesn't get good naps during the day M_F since she's in daycare and there are alot of crybabies in her room. So she can't get a good restful sleep. Which starts to make her cranky by Thursday or Friday. And she'll go down @ 6 pm if I'd let her. But I try to keep her up til 7pm and then put her down for the night if she's so inclined. And she likes to sleep in on saturdays, takes her naps. But sunday she's rested, up @ 6 ready to go, takes her naps and goes down at 8. Maybe waking once to feed.

It sounds okay to me, my baby boy will be 3 months on Monday and these days he's sleeping from 9pm until 5 or 6am, then up for a feeding and a little play, (about an hour) then back to sleep until 8:30 or 9am.
During the day it's a little hard to get him to nap very well, he's started teething (already!!) so he's a little fussy. His main naps are during our walk for about an hour, sometimes another half-hour in his seat when we gat back home, then an hour or two with his Papa at about 3pm when he's home from work.
I think it seems to be enough for him, when he's awake and his gums aren't hurting him he's a pretty happy boy, and it sounds like yours is doing about the same.
There's not a whole lot you can do about it anyways, if they're not going to sleep they're just not going to sleep!!

It sounds like your baby is actually doing wonderfully in the sleep category! I also have a three month old baby & I just read yesterday that they should be getting 10 hrs at night & 5 hrs during the day (on average, of course...everyone is a bit different.)
Mine dones great at night, but I don't think he gets very good naps during the day since we always seem to be on the go w/ his big sister. But, he's a happy baby so I'm not going to stress about it too much. As long as your little guy seems to be happy & doing OK during the day, I wouldn't worry too much about it (easy to say, right!?)
Good Luck!

My daughter is 7 Months old and has done almost the same thing since she was a few weeks old. She still is up between 6 and 730 every morning! Then its back to nap about 9... I would say aslong as your baby isnt really fussy that he is fine:)

thats pretty normal actually. it seems like hes got himself on a pretty good schedule even with the sporatic wakings. dont worry about it. babies grow when they sleep and whatever sleep hes not getting at night hes making up for with naps. u would know if he wasnt getting enough sleep because he would probably wake up cranky and if hes waking up happy and playful, u have nothing to worry about. just enjoy it while it lasts.

sounds fine to me! some people would think you very lucky!

as long as you are sure he isn't overtired e.g. not sleeping but really cranky adn grumpy like he is tired, OR night waking because he has gone too long without sleep in the day, not just for food, then you really can't make him sleep more!

babies will sleep when they will - they all vary and it's al normal.

your son sounds like my 4 month old, for what it's worth :-)

Try really hard not to listen to any other 'stats' or even other parents.

Your child will sleep when he is tired, and will eat when he is hungry. Don't bother counting the hours he sleeps and when he 'should' nap. You will just tire yourself trying to get him to sleep when he is ready to explore his world, and trying to keep him awake when he is exhausted.

Listen to his needs and act on them. Don't let someone tell you your child isn't sleeping enough, they have never dealt with your child.

Enjoy the rest!

There is something that really helped me...if you take that Johnson's sleep survey. It really helps you know if your child is in the right range of hours they should sleep and if they are aquiring good sleep habits. It will get easier and more routine though...hang in there little momma! Good luck

I think his sleeping is just fine......especially if he takes naps during the day..........my daughter barely ever takes naps....she is 7 months and she sleep from around 8p.m. until 5am..........then goes back to sleep until 7-8a.m.
