As much as I think that some people deserve to be put to death, the suffering ends for them, and I think that they should have life in prison, where they'll hate every single day. When you kill them, you're just putting them out of any trouble.

I'm not sure it is ethically right but surely, if you're going to commit a crime that might get you the death sentence, you're ready to risk it.... Should other people worry about you getting the death sentence when you don't care much?

In fact a recent study does prove that one execution deters 18 murders. One thing is absolutely certain an executed murderer has never committed another murder. That can't be said for those serving life terms. So I'm for it.

But, I think it needs to be applied very carefully. Particularly where there are no witnesses. Because if we make a mistake we can't undo that sentence.

I think in certain cases it is justified and should be implemented. I do not think it should become a mandatory sentence. It should be left as an option for the judge who has heard all the facts of the particular case.

I think it should be used more often and more effectively. Stop the twenty year appeal process and just do it. I do not feel that a person that murders or rapes or molests children should be given a lifetime of free living

i think it's warranted for those who cannot be rehabilitated...such as serial criminals, rapists, child molesters, sociopaths, etc. get them the hell out of our universe, so they don't have the chance of offending 100 more times. we need to be rehabilitating those who can benefit from it...petty thieves, etc. the others who have life sentences should have to do their time. the death penalty isn't a deterrent to crime or revidicism though. that's been proven time and again.
