English sing American???

Can anyone seriously tell me why everyone sings in American accent? This has baffled me my whole life so I decided to finally just ask somebody! I know the English mostly sing in an American accent unless you start getting into punk or something, ie. The Sex Pistols... lots of country's do this. I listen to a Swedish singer and SHE sings 'American'. What the heck?!

I think they try to class it as a transatlantic accent,you dont get them singing with a deep southern drawl,and i believe that an American accent.

I can't think of any English bands that sing with an American accent.
