Im want to say convection current and pressure gradient. Does this seem right

As I recall my science days, your answer to your own question is correct. Differing pressures cause air to move from a high to a low pressure area. Nature likes balance. Temperature difference cause uplifts and falls, thus air moves. Again nature likes equilibrium.

I would be more inclined to say that it is the heating effects of the Sun and the gravitational field of the Earth.
