I would recommend a Paasch Eddie. I have been using one now for four years, the longest career for an airbush with me. They are reliable, easy to service(big plus for airbrushes!) provide with plenty of optional parts and spares are readily available. I think that would be a good investment.

Not sure if it is "best value", but:

I have three Paasche VL airbrushes on my spray-booth. I've had them ALL for over a decade of flawless performance.

I also have a 1/10th HP compressor... much more efficient that bottled-air.

I've painted over 400 aircraft, armor, trains and ships with these brushes.
