Uni of Syd is probably better for business then I would go for Macq. UNSW is really hard to get to. In terms of hanging out Syd Uni is in the middle of the city. There are no major teenage hanouts they just go to nightclubs that kind of thing.

You're best to locate in the City near Central [ for cheaper accommodation ] - it's a bit noisy, but full of young folks. For accommodation click on the section that says :

Sort by Name | Type | Location | Price

There are lot's of hostels [ including YHA ] cheap hotels and serviced apartments.

For Univ. the UNSW is considered the better study course, but is harder to get into, requiring higher entry criteria. Also, it's more convenient for transport. Macq is also considered a good Uni however.

Hope that helps

I wouldn't go past the University of Sydney myself but UNSW, Macquarie and UTS are good universities. I know little about UWS, they don't seem to mix with the other Sydney universities in intervarsity competitions.

Macq definetly.
In Sydney go to the beach and spend a day in the city (hit the shops like Pitt Street and QVB).
