My mom was killed in a car wreck. Denial is definately a stage of grieving. I remember it vividly.

I agree with MS; after all the time and energy I put into studying, getting good grades, "keeping my nose clean," and doing everyting I could to get relevant experience for my chosen career, life dealt me a sh***y deck, and I'm left sitting on my duff with 2 useless Bachelor's degrees and a pending Masters degree that I don't foresee being much help. Good thing I'm a stay at home mom at the moment, because God knows what else I could do right now.
On the positive side, I do have a wonderful husband and 2 beautiful sons--although I always pictured myself with girls....

What a great question that I have so many answers to! One thing that happened to me that I never thought would was going back to school for two additional degrees (a Bachelor's and a Master's, both in Education). I thought once I graduated the first time with a degree in broadcasting, my life was set, but little did I know it would have some interesting curves ahead.

I injured my spine in a couple spots, got fibromyalgia & arthritis, so I have constant chronic pain. I was a very physically active, hyperactive type A kind of person. I have had to learn to slow my life way down, & I cannot do alot of things that I really enjoyed doing. But, I have a great (most of the time!) hubby, 3 wonderful daughters & the absolute joy of my life- my 5-yo grandaughter!

Sounds stupid to say that I thought that this never would happen but it was when my mom died this past year. I'm still not dealing with it too well, I mean I don't really have anyone I can talk to. It's like everyone thinks "Well it's been 8 months, it's over". To me it feels like it happened thirty seconds ago. I'm supposed to be the strong one and baby everyone else. I guess I'm still bitter about the whole thing. She shouldn't be gone, and with the proper medical care by the hospital, she wouldn't be.

I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer after I had my 2ND child at 23 years old. I am now 27. My only wish is that I live a long and prosperous life for my girls.

Moving to the little random island that I live on now. The morning I moved here I had no idea that by the end of the day I would be on a plane!

I was divorced in '98 after 12 years of marriage. If anyone had told me that I would be getting divorced, I would have fought them tooth and nail. I was in it for the long haul. Oh well. My daughter is healthy. That is good and I have my health.

Filed for bankruptsy. I had a good job (until a lot of my work started to be outsourced), a house (with a $1500 mortage), two cars....and a spouse with a complete lack of a work ethic.
When he quit his last job, we had bought all those things on two incomes....lived off our credit cards for a while...and he still wouldn't get a job. End of our credit. End of our marriage.

I would have to say it was getting divorced. I haven't been the same since. Believe me, I don't sit and cry my eyes outt over it (any more - lol) but there's just an empty little void there that needs to be filled.
