If you are refering to dating yes, it is fair. Preference is not racism. I prefer to date a black american man. That is what I prefer. My coworker prefers mexican men. She has her preference, I have mine.

I think it is only "fair" when it works in one's favor. If some kind of preference must be given, their are other methods other than sex, color, and nationality.

A person's present situation or past circumstances should be examined individually, but entire groups should not be granted favor.

If tomorrow, the government decided to legalize preference of white, middle-class, Christian males, their would be an uproar of protests. (...And with good reason.)

Depending on what it is.

If its in terms of looks for a bf/gf to date marry I see nothing wrong with it. Like for instance if you preferred tall pale blondes with blue eyes from bulgaria.

But if its an employer qualifying or disqualifying someone on the basis of something they can't control more specifically race then its wrong and also illegal.

Sometimes preferences are based simply on what type of person whom you are most familiar. Surround youself with others culture and lifestyles. Get to know what makes them tick. Soon you will discover you are not so different afterall.

I prefer mangos over apples...good luck!

Im not sure if you could say its fair, since every person has his/her own preference that we are not in control, but i can say it shows grave racism.
