We are two adults, one hired teen nanny and three children ages 9, 8 and 5. We'll be spending three days at Disney and one at Seaworld. Any suggestions on where to go, what to do, what to see or what to avoid?
Also, any ideas on what to take would be appreciated. We'll be driving there in a van and it will probably take about 12 hours to get there. We're leaving late at night so the kids will sleep for most of it.

I would deffinetly suggest making a trip to Downtown Disney either durring the day with your kids or at night when you can leave the kids with the nanny. They have some pretty cool stuff there and the Cirque Du Soleil is my absolute favorite, I've gone there for three birthdays in a row now.

As far as theme parks go at Seaworld the most obvious thing to do is go and see Shamu, it's a must. My favorite thing as Seaworld is one of the shows that they have. I can't remember it's name, but it is about pirates and seals and is outside over by where the sea lions are. You absolutely HAVE to see it, it is sooo funny. Also, if you like rides, the Hercules Mount Olympus one is pretty fun.

At Disney, I would reccomend spending the least amount of time at Epcot when you're with your kids, it's fun but there aren't any rides for the kids to go on. For your kids age group i would reccomend The Magical Kingdom, and you should deffinetly check into having dinner in the big castle :). Animal Kingdom would be my second pick and then MGM Studios.

As far as taking things with you I would bring maybe a coloring book or two for the little one. A portable DVD player is a good idea if you have one. CD players are good if your kids listen to music. Also, make sure to bring sunscreen and hats for the parks. You'll get fried if you don't. When you get there, I would pick up a Disney property map, which you can pick up at the hotel, because getting around can be confusing. If you're staying at a Disney hotel, make sure to take advantage of the free Disney property bussing. They go everywhere so you won't have to worry about getting lost and it doesn't cost anything.

Have a lot of fun :)

Well, I would suggest definitely staying on Disney property because it is way more convenient when it comes to transportation to the parks. When you stay on Disney property, the buses come around every 20 minutes and more often at night. Some resorts I recommend: Pop Century or art of animation (fairly new) are resorts I would recommend if you want to go with a cheaper budget. Moderate hotels: Port Orleans riverside or French quarter are great resorts. They have always been my favorites. Love Beach club resort as well. AND if you want to stay at a hotel that has more transportation to certain parks besides bus, this one, OR Boardwalk are great!! Beach Club resort has a back entrance right into Epcot. There are also ferries to Hollywood Studios and epcot. So no need to take a bus when you decide to go to that park. Boardwalk has ferries to those parks as well. Go to the Disney website and they will have all the prices for each Disney hotel for you. So it all depends on what your budget is. Hope I helped you out :) Disney is awesome!

There are loads of helpful information that you need to know to have a great enjoyable experience at Disney world – the happiest place on Earth. Make use of the following advice to avoid any potential problems at Disney world.

• Orlando, Florida has a warm and sunny climate. Therefore, you will be wise to take some precautions in case the sun seems to be very hot. Take ample sunscreen lotions and ensure that they have a Sun Protection Formula (SPF) rating of at least 30 or more. Wear wide-brimmed hats, sunglasses and airy clothes. Make your kids drink lots of water to avoid dehydration.

• You must not at any cost miss the opportunity of enjoying the wonderful dining experiences at the Orlando restaurants. Always make use of the Walt Disney World's Priority Seating, if you really want to enjoy a dinner show or character meal at any of the Disney restaurants.

• If you have purchased traveler’s checks, make sure that you maintain the check numbers and store the documents separately from the checks.

• To have fun and capture the fond memories forever, never forget to take your camera. You will also do good to get an additional set of camera batteries and plenty of film. Planning to get your digital camera? Well, then don’t forget to bring along the recharger and the extra memory storage.

• You must leave a copy of your travel schedule with someone back at home. Also keep an extra copy with yourself as well. The itinerary should include car, hotel and airplane information. Also, do not forget to have any reservation numbers for restaurants or shows in the itinerary.

• Get the prescribed medicine you are presently using and any emergency drug prescriptions that you might need. To prevent any problems, also get the phone number of your doctor or pediatrician. You can also keep the contact number of the insurance company handy.

• If you want to let your kids have some great fun, then keep the age of your child in mind. Your child needs time for resting, allot the time. Go at the child’s pace and do not aim to enjoy all the rides at breakneck speed. Take care of your child and keep them well fed, as hungry children can be annoying.

Hey when are you going? cause I'm going on Saturday and I'll be park hoppering!! Wohoo!!!

I suggest you take water, fruits and even sandwich.
Take light clothes even wear bathing suit.

Now for the rides try to get a fast pass into the most popular rides!!
Your doing good on going at night cause one thing you should minimize not able to avoid is... the trafffic.

For Seaworld is been years since I went to Sea World.
Here the key is to relax. Since there's not much to see like at Disney well you don't have to worry about missing rides or shows.

The #1 mistake that people make is that they don't listen to their kids. Children are more likely to get heatstroke, tired, cranky, sunburned. It sounds like a simple thing but if the children say they are tired or hungry just try to take things slower. At disney it's easy to be on the go go go and feel like there is tons to cram into a short period of time but just remember, you can always come back again :)

Take plenty of sunscreen, drink plenty of water, and make sure you go check out Mission Space, Test Track, and Soaring in Epcot. Soaring is great for the kids. Catch the water show at MGM (right at dusk) if you can, it is amazing and kids seem to love it. Also if you aren't doing anything at night, go check out Downtown Disney.

If you're passing through Alabama you might stop by and check out the US Space & Rocket Center (aka: The Space Museum). Map link: http://maps.google.com/maps?um=1&tab=wl&hl=en&q=%22the%20space%20museum%22%20alabama

When you get to Florida, make sure to check out Sea World and the alligator farm. There are gobs of other attractions there, so look around for options!
