In all due honesty, I think "Cecil T" hits the nail on the head. Since WWII we've become a world leader with a very strong economy where we've become depended upon to help others in humanitarian need.
We provide much needed aid throughout the entire world along with our allies!
Third world countries are often led by third rate thugs who want what they "have not" and as such create dissension with others who are willing to listen to their rhetoric.
The United States is officially at war with only the terrorist groups located throughout the world. This is a "war" they declared against us not the reverse.
We sometimes need to remind ourselves as well that it's not the President that declares war...but Congress! Those who admonish the current administration for our activites in the middle east need to research the congressional voting results that sent us to the middle east in the first place...this was NOT just a republican issue!
The Iraq War Resolution Introduced as H.J.Res. 114 (Public Law 107–243), passed the House on October 10, 2002 by a vote of 296-133, and the Senate on October 11 by a vote of 77-23. It was signed into law by President Bush on October 16. So for those who blame one party or the other needs to do a bit more research!

To fight for our freedom and safety. We have a right to defend ourselves at all costs. Our military is the best world wide and will crush any enemy. If we weren't such a strong country many countries wouldn't have freedom or protection. Many countries want to criticize us but when they have a problem who do they come running to?? We sent help after the tsunami; did we get any help cleaning New Orleans or the World Trade Center..... NO! Why can't people just say "thank you America. Wow, we'd still be learning to read at 30 with a candle drinking dirty water and starving." No all we get it criticism. For 1 month you ought to read Time, Newsweek or any other news magazine and you will see why we are all over the world.

Certainly not Afghanistan or Iraq.
We are at war in those countries,
Not Against those countries.

We are currently fighting A war in Iraq. It is a war against Radical Islam. This war will eventually spill over into many countries and the leaders of those countries will have to fight it as they see fit.

Because on 9/11/2001 some crazy, psychotic, worthless, s--t eating, soulless, p--k a-s b------ds highjacked some of our commercial airliners with innocent people on board and proceeded to fly them into the ground in a field in Pennsylvania, The Pentagon in Washington D.C., and The World Trade Center on Manhatten Island in New York City. I'm surprised you didn't here about it. The event was covered by all the major news agencies around the world. Some was even covered as it happened In N.Y.C. The only folks that I have spoken to that didn't know about it were four year olds that were in there classes at preschool watching Sesame Street or Romper room. To hell with the enemies of The United States of America. DON'T TREAD ON ME!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's why The United States of America is at war!!!!!!!!!!!!
