As someone who makes clothing, it's possible the snap is defective, especially if the fit is good everywhere else. You might need to get the snap replaced with another snap, or replace it with a button and button hole. I'm not happy with the quality of snaps lately. They don't grip, the prongs never line up, the center rivets stick up in the middle in heavy snaps and they loose their spring far to quickly.

You should get pants that fit you better and you wouldn't have that problem. If you have trouble getting pants that fit because you may have a figure type that isn't supported by designers (I have a lot of hips but a small waist). So you may want to spend a few dollars and get your pants tailored. That's what I have to do so my pants don't fit funny.
I hope that helped!

try to remove the snap and get a button and a buttonhole, will stay in much better, but if you dont want to try that, try a full zip with inside snap
