One can feel, or be, very spiritual without the need for a religion..

Any who instead embrace the mainstream sciences can also feel very spiritual at the birth of a child, the death of a loved one, at the majesty of nature, the granduer of the universe, the beauty of a flower..etc..

Religion also doesn't have a monopoly on "morals".

But if you're a druggy, a rapist, a murderer, traumatised, or just down and out, they'll welcome you with open arms while the attempted conversion is easiest..

Spirituality is in itself its own religion...
Religion can be simply classed as a system of belief.

For example:
Religion: Christianity: For one to be a Christian, one simply believes in Christ - in whatever form/teaching. Then you have the sub-sects: Catholicism, Anglican, Presbyterian etc etc

Religion: Paganism = Earth Based worship, not deity (God based) then there are different sub-sects: Druidism, Witchcraft, Wicca, Shamanism, Native American Indian, Koori (Australian Aborigines).

Spiritualism: Where there is belief in a Higher Power. Not necessarily "GOD" in a Christian's eyes, but _A_ God-like entity. Spiritualism also believes in reincarnation, souls, Spirit, messages from beyond, deep higher conscious thought .... so many things...

But, many teachings of Spiritualism, I believe, are VERY similar to the "pure" or "basic" old school Christian beliefs and practices - Meditation, Contemplation, Intuition - whether you believe your message comes from God or "GOD" or beyond the grave .... It's a GREAT cross over between the Pagan type religions and the Christian religions ...or more main stream religions .....

Religions are the rituals that we practice when we visit a temple, or a church or a mosque. It is following by the book.

Essence of all the religions is the spirituality. It is bookless and churchless. It is acceptance of soul as our real and eternal self. It encompasses each and everything in this universe.

I don't practice any religion. I practice what I can't preach, and that is spirituality.

Very simple! My teacher said: All religions have different rituales and different symbols but all of them have the same values.. human values., which can be spirituality.! People usually hook on symbols and rituals and drop the values!Spirituality is the banana and religion is a banana skin. and people are holding to the banana skin and drop the banana.

Spirituality tends to center around the feeling you experience when you are close to God (if it's a Theistic faith).

Religion tends to discuss the way in which you acheive that. It can be organized or "personal." (for lack of a better term)

Same as between Blindness and the darkness,One is a condition and the other a state[absence of light].History has proved that either singly or jointly they have made negative contribution towards human progress.More human lives have been lost in religious conflicts than by any natural or man made disasters.

Religion is an organized expression of faith with rules, dogma, and a defined group of people who practice it. Spirituality is a personal expression of faith and connection with whatever one considers a supreme being or the universal power.

Religion is the aftermath of Jesus, krishna, budha ect, spriitual journey, where people, monk, priest ect have made it into a religion for honouing them instead of doing what they did.

Spirituallity is the Journey taken to understand oneself, life and/or God. It is the journey that Jesus, Krishna ect took to obtain peace, happiness ect. From this, After they past, their adage becomes religion (from which we can read but never fully comprehend until we also walk to journey)
