Is there a correlation..?

Question

..in America, where light entertainment from TV and movies are virtually always about:
deamons
vampires
werewolves
evil
angels
ufo's
..etc, and always involve murder, and gunfights..
I mean, god is mentioned on American currency, and kids blow each other to bits with firearms at school, after watching a prime time TV show based on murder and deamons..!!

Is there a correlation with all the religious fruitcakes being able to be so easily believe in god while embracing ignorance and denial, and who also believe, and act on, their imaginary sky fairy friend..?

The country seems ripe for moulding young minds into nutters of one form or another, and it is undeniably full of nutters of one form or another..

Those Americans who embrace mainstream science, are pioneers in their field of expertise, or who are otherwise great contributers to humanities knowledge base, are obviously not included here..

I think you would be surprised by the number of normal people out there. I think "full of nutters" is going a bit to far. Some people are whacked, but I would guess 1 person in every 100,000 would be this deranged and if that.. All those things you mention are on TV because it's not what we are used to and its entertaining. It is just the odd person who cannot separate TV fro reality that causes trouble. And I would consider believer that people easily taken into cults would also sometimes be the same people that have trouble with TV shows. But what does that matter? We should try to help these people.

I don't think there's much of a correlation because they watch the same kind of things all over the world and in most places the murder rate is far lower.

The best example would be Canada. It's similar to the US in a lot of ways but the people seem to be more relaxed than Americans and despite having a large number of gun owners they have very few murders.

the correlation with all the violence and murders in movies, and being acted out in real life, is you have to realize that the devil is the god of this world. Jesus said that you will do the works of your father. If you don't believe in God doesn't mean He doesn't exist. He can not deny Himself. Here is a question for you. Why does a God that people say don't exist drive people to anger at the mentioning of Him and His Son? If He doesn't exist, then blow him off

Its interesting to me that Christians will blame Satan for the woes of America when we have a much larger percentage of believers here than Europe, where the type of violence we have has not been as rampant. We do have a lot of nutters here, no doubt. Our school science programs are being gutted. The religious beliefs of our presidential candidates are much more important than their political views. I am not hopeful of our future.

Both the "nutters" and the religious "fruitcakes" as you put it are a worrying minority. What they do have in common is a narrow point of reference. If your only exposed to the narrow view then thats what happens. .

The things you have listed are known to Christians as the `spirit of this world` and Jesus warned His followers about this corrupting spirit, it is not those who know and love God who want to corrupt minds but those who hate God.

i believe idiots thrive in every socioty maby there is a corelation between blind faith in a being who sees u when your sleeping he knows when your awake he knows if youve been bad or good so be good or you'll go straight to hell. i on the other hand belive in the tooth fary and the easter bunny. so you will get no support here
