You have some mis-information. Evolution is taught in the USA. What is in dispute in some states is if it should be the only explanation for the "how" of our existence.
Some say (and I am one of them) that the primordial soup kitchen with emergent amoeba/ land animals occurring over any length of time is disputable.
(Now before anyone goes off half "you know what", I am fully aware that an amoeba /land animal does not exist. I understand the tenets of evolution. I am being just a teensy bit facetious)
Some and I am one of them consider it reasonable to consider "Intelligent Design" and some and I am one of them, consider the biblical description to be the truth.
Although I realize it would not be appropriate separation of church and state to teach the biblical description.

We do mention creationism, although its in Religious Education, not Science.
You have to remember that the USA is a lot more religious than the UK and evolution is generally considered to be the more credible theory here.
Also, we have a centralised educational system - an office in London dictates what schools must teach in the National Curriculum. In a lot of parts of the USA, teaching of evolution is allowed. It is only in the deeply religious parts that its not.

Because Creationism is based solely on one religious book. As England is multi-cultural that would mean that the poor kids would have to learn Creation as describe in Christianism, Judaism, Muslim, Hindouism, Buddhism, animism, shamanism, sikkism, paganism and plenty of other religions, and be told that all those versions were true.
Evolution is based on science that is recognised worldwide.

American schools do teach evolution. I do not know about your English schools but here it is taught as fact. How ignorant.. it is not a fact. It is called a THEORY for all you losers who call it a fact. A bad theory at best because it falls apart when one tries to find a beginning.

Where did you hear that evolution is not taught in the United States? I know your media sucks over there but I did not know it was that bad. Evolution is taught in every public school in the United States, and Crationism is not.

Nonsense. Evolution is most certainly taught in the U.S., and has been since the 40s.
There are, however, a few retrograde school systems in the South where this is still (can you believe it?) an issue.

It's what happens when religion invades politics.
The problem originates when Political parties do not want to upset the influencial Fundy vote in the US.
Problem is like a cancer it's still spreading.

Evolution is taught. Its just that in parts of the former confederacy (i.e. the bible belt) they seem to have a problem with it and complain about it.
