I might be getting into a fight at highschool. Im 16 male. Anyways there's this guy who has been talking alot of BS and is trynna fight me. I wanna hopefully try and dodge it but if it breaks out you think this will work.( Btw he doesn't look like a pro fighter.. but who knows) I plan on getting a good stance, then faking a punch, then go for his shin, then if he looks down ill uppercut him, or if he keeps his head straight ill punch him straight between his eyes right above his nose. Then should i just hold him down not to hurt him anymore? Not wanting to really hurt someone, just enough to defend myself and make him quit..Should i do more after i do that or no?

If you guys are going to fight, and you both know it, tell all of your friends when and where it's going to take place. Have all of them pay to watch, then you and your opponent each throw some additional cash into the pot as well. Who knows it could be a pretty good chunk of change. Then, both of you agree that the winner takes the whole pot.

Why fight for free if you can make some money at it?

It sounds pretty good, but chances are, that's probably not how it's gonna turn out when you finally get into a fight with him. For one, he could kick or knee you while you're going for his shin or he could fall on top of you and drag you to the ground and then you'll be the one vulnerable to a flurry of punches. Getting into a good stance is fine, but you also end up giving him a warning sign that you're setting up an attack, thereby giving up the element of surprise. The punch to the nose is probably your best bet followed by hooks to the jaw and an uppercut if he tries to clinch up. Keep it simple and don't expect him to go down after one or two punches only, real fighting is not as easy and especially with adrenaline pumping. The more punches you throw, the more chance of them connecting. And if that doesn't work, you can always try aiming for the groin. But these only works after lots of practice, hitting a moving target who hits back and trying to rock him with your punches isn't as easy as it looks, heck boxers do that all the time and even they have a hard time doin it right.

That sounds pretty good but it probably wont go that way. I would reccomend just jabbing around at the start of the fight and staying to the outside dodging punches until u figure out how this guy fights. once you figured that use all the punches you know to go or the knock out. (you may not want to hurt the guy but belive me from much expirence the guy wont give you any problems ever if you knock him out) Always go to the jaw or right behind his ear fot this use either a Left hook if your right handed right hook if your left or an upper cut right to the jaw use your dominant hand for this punch. I cant emphasize this point enough DO NOT LET UP! if you let up you will get hurt. If you have any other questions email me.

thanks for the question

Hmmm.

Well, I would rather tell you right then tell you what you want to hear.

People have it right, you can't do it like you think. He isn't just going to stand there and take punishment.

How are you going to get him down, how are you going to hold him there?

Basically this whole plan of yours even uner the best of circumstances wouldn't work.

Secondly, yes planning a fight many moves in advance won't actually help.

I would discourage any fighting period, but I understand your age. You have more to lose than to gain in that situation though, as trouble with the school and such isn't really worth just shutting some dude up.

Just be funnier or smarter than he is and bust him back down verbally. I think you got the right idea already of not fighting him.

But if it "breaks out" as you say, it will probably be because he punches you. And that might be a good starting point.

My advice, take him to the ground quick. Get on top of him and smack him around some. That process worked for me in every fight I had been in since Kindergarten.

I suggest the very easily learned Osoto Gari, or Major out reap. Essentially bring your leg behind him and tripping him up backwards. See below animations and illustrations: These are the kata based version, in competetion or in combat you use your body weight and come down with the guy for a pretty strong slam.

Every single Martial art teaches a derivitive of this throw, every modern combatatives use it as well. It is absolutely money.

As I like to say, "Why hit someone with a fist, when I can hit them with a planet?"

Throw him down, jump on his chest and smack him around some. The element of surpise on this technique is usually pretty high (as is most grappling) and hard to defend against unless you know what you are doing.

dont think of what you are going to do, because 9 out of 10 times it will not go the way you have it in ur head. just use what he gives ya. parry a few punches/kicks joint locks works wonders it is easier to break a joint then to work against muscle. movement is a great friend as well learn to move.use his momentom against him think in triangle's and circle's when he throws a punch finish the circle dont meet the circle. Triangle meaning you can take there head arms ect ect to the top of the triangle fromt hebase of the feet were there feet are draw 2 lines out until they entersect that is the triangle point if u put there hand/head at that point they have no choice but to fall. work with them alittle b4 u fight then you will have a better understanding of wat im tring to teach or show you here. try and stay 2 arms distance away from him. from there they cant punch or kick you unless they take a step forward , from there you should have enough time to react against it. I know this isnt a practical way of trying to teach you on the net here. but if you would take Aikido then you will see what i am talking about

1. Try to avoid the fight, easiest way being to avoid the person in question. You'll need to get good at ignoring people's BS anyway and he's probably just insecure and wants to prove himself. If that doesn't work you could try talking to the guy and trying to resolve the issue without violence. If this is at school then possibly talk to a teacher (yeah I know that it ain't cool but then when you look back on it it's more sensible) if that doesn't work.

2. If you have no choice but to get into a fight then I'd suggest you make him fight you on your own terms - don't get into a situation where you're fighting more than one person or at risk of such happening. If he does confront you then try to escape if possible, if you're cornered then fight hard and dirty (here's a free tip, carry some deodorant around and spray his eyes - temporary blindness on his part will give you time to run. If ya don't have deodorant then any other spray will do, or use dirt or salt or powder that can be thrown into the eyes) - but only so as to be able to escape. If he brings friends or is dangerously armed and corners you (ie you can't escape) then you could be in real trouble... if that happens (and only if that happens) then you need to fight ruthlessly - in the case of multiple attackers then your best bet in a school environment would be to stab the largest guy in the face or neck with a pen, rip with it and then run in the brief period of shock/horror as the blood starts spurting out of his open wound (did this to a guy in primary school, works well). In the case of him having a weapon you need to be very, very careful - even an unskilled, far weaker opponent with a knife can cause lethal injuries to a skilled, stronger attacker... again your best bet is to slow him down or distract him and then attempt to escape. If this is not possible then be sure to arm yourself quickly - a rock that can be thrown or smashed into his face or better yet the hand carrying the knife or a metal ruler or stick is a whole lot better than nothing. If you have no readily available weapons you could always try using a belt as a whip or in a last resort a jumper wrapped around your arm or shoe over your hand can at least give you a chance to avoid severe cuts as you attempt to disarm him. Again take any and all opportunities presented to escape. Remember also that you can yell and attract attention and cause diversions, starting to call the cops on a cell phone is another option and most people won't go you if the cops are on the other end of the line (also a cell phone has enough weight to be used as a crude bludgeon in many cases).

All in all fighting is dangerous and stupid, avoid it where you can but know when a situation has arrived that you can't avoid and act accordingly without hesitation.

I agree with Judo... Don't plan attacks in advance. Training is so you will not have to plan. If you have a plan of attack, something will go wrong, and you'd better have a secondary plan, and when something in that goes wrong a tertiary one... The move he gives you is also good, but make sure you don't "telegraph" it or let him know (or anyone else) what defensive move you plan. The ground should do do most of the damage, as it's often made of concrete, cement, or something else hard. (sometimes with broken glass and other sharp objects to boot!)

Your thinking this over way to much and may psych yourself out when/if this actually happens.Keep it simple ...1)kick/punch him in the groin .....2)poke him in the eye/throat ......3)kick him in the knee ....also nothing in a fight ever goes as planned....adapt and survive...hope this helps

Don't plan, react. Getting into a fight is not a book report. If this guys comes up to you, hit him first and hit him hard. Go savage on him. It would be better that you not fight though.

You are trying to preplan a fight scenario, 99.9% of the time it wo'nt work the way you envision it. I like that you are trying to avoid the fight, its always a better idea to avoid conflict then to engage in it. Best of luck to you either way.
