I think that the reason for living is to become an individual and to decide on what you like and dislike so that you can then go on to create your own lucid-dream-like reality after you die. What do YOU think? Of my theory and your own?

I'd just like to point out that there IS quite a lot of theory behind my theory, I just haven't written it down because it's the lenght of a small book.

And didn't Bertrand Russell say that the chances of a personal god existing was the equivalent to that of a teapot orbiting jupiter?

Possibly. I have a similar theory- that life is a dream, you are the dreamer instanced into the physical body of a human being.

That your mind is immortal, but your fleshy body is not.

That the greatest challenge of life is to awaken to who and what you are so that you can stay focused in the present of how amazing life is.

Unfortunately, most people spend a lifetime just finding out who and what they are without ever getting to know the power and magic of life- particularly your ability to dream and conceive of the life you want to live (like your theory).

I think that humans (all living things) are truly the universe incarnate. As an apple tree grows apples, the universe grows people. We are the universe experiencing itself as an intelligent being. I think that the ultimate goal in life is just to live, and to appreciate the beauty around us. Then our atoms will return to the universe and be used in some other way. We are pieces of universe popping up to say, "Wow, that is pretty cool."

That is the meaning of life, but to break it down even further I think that Jim Morrison said it best, "To have my kicks before the whole ****house goes up in flames."

A theory needs to have some proof behind it for it to be considered properly - as there appears to be none for yours, then I'm afraid I don't think much of it.

My theory is that, if everyone spends too much time examining their own navel and worrying about what happens after we die, that we all lose sight of the fact that life is too short and needs to be lived to the full.

The very definition of "meaning of life" logically requires a God who created us.

“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell (noted mathematician, philosopher and atheist)

Your ideas about reasons for living arise from feelings, not logic. You think it to be true because you imagine it would feel good to be true.

If you want truth, you must seek the God who created you and stop making things up. Sorry to be so blunt - I really don't mean to offend.

Thats a theory of what comes after death, rather than life itself.

Watch the Monty Python film. It all makes so much sense now..

meaning of life should be seen in totality rather than an individual self,if u do an action try n see if it can have a positive impact on others too rather than ur own selfish reason

Catholics believe the meaning of human life is to know and love God.

With love in Christ.
