IM EXACTLY 40 AND LOVING IT!

In fact, I wouldn't want to be ANY younger.
And I'm not kidding.
Being a 40 year old guy . . . ROCKS.

I've never been engaged or married either. All of my friends are divorced and they hate me for it! LOL!!

It's fantastic.

Life BEGINS at 40. I believe it. And not because I told myself some "silly old addage" either.

Tell your buddy to MAN UP! And enjoy himself.

When you're 20 you don't know anything and make mistakes right left and center.

30 is when you PAY PAY PAY for them.

40 is when you are armed with what you learned, and are free to rock your OWN world when - until now - you really didn't know HOW. . . . but NOW you can AFFORD IT.

Here endeth the lesson.

:)

I too, am turning 40 this year, I'll be 40 in three weeks and here's what I've learned in 40 years... The most important thing is that with age comes wisdom. I won't make stupid mistakes again. I won't fall for stupid lines or belive con artists again because I've been around the block. I've also become aware that I'm beginning to run out of time. So, I'm going to make the time I have left matter. I found a charity I can get behind and I donate to them regulary, I don't just send them money, I volunteer with them several times a month. At first I did it so that someone would remember me after I passed on, but the great feeling I get when I volunteer with them is why I keep coming back. Tell your friend to get involved with the community. He will get huge rewards back!

Well, they say that 40 is the new 30, whatever that is supposed to mean. I turned 41 this past January and I have to tell ya, I'm living the way I should have been for the last 10 years. Im not sure what it is about 40 but there's a kind of freedom and a new sense of self-discovery. I even got a tattoo because it's something I've always wanted and I didnt see a reason not to do it. My plan is, to not regret anything. I want to do the things I've always wanted to do, I dont want to die saying I should have or I could have. So just tell your friend that he is about to experience a whole new life. It's great, it's fun and it only gets better.

I am well past 40 now but thinking back on it, there is one thing that stands out about turning 40. People suddenly, it seemed, started to take me seriously. When I made suggestions at work, for instance, they no longer looked at me like some kid. My suggestions became more highly regarded than many of my superiors that were younger and better educated than I. There is a kind of wisdom that only comes with experience.

By the time you reach 40 you have probably been in the workforce over twenty years. You most likely have seen many a plan that sounded good on paper fail miserably. You tend to understand the practical much better than younger less experienced people no matter how well educated they are.

A wise man once told me, you go to college to gain some knowledge. But real wisdom requires experience.

This is the time to enjoy and appreciate life....he feels funny because probably he has not planned properly. At Forty you should have saved quite OK and gotten married and stopped given birth and chilling with your spouse several times a week.

BUT, its not too late....FORTY IS WHAT YOU SAY IT IS. Your forty can be when you are 50 or even 30 . It depends on you.

may people I know did not know what to do with their life at 40.

Life is what you make of it...Age is a number and life in eternal...You choose to end it or start it or ignore it...

I choose to live so let him choose same..Tell him he will die at 100 so he should save/invest , enjoy and chill for the next 60 years

Cheers!

I was 40 last year. I don't have a problem with it. The best thing about it is, car insurance. I can now insure a 3 litre, V12, injection, turbo, NOS assisted jet engined car for around £200-250 a year. I can behave very badly now, and get away with it, cos im an old bird. Weeeeeeeeeee.......!!!!!
Just tell him to get over it. Cant turn the clock back. Dont know his situ, but I have so much freedom now, it's fantastic.

my honey is 40 and we celebrated it because being in your teens and 20's is so hard. everything is new, nothing is easy, and your'e always broke! we have a nice home, we're looking forward to retirement, he has a career, and not a job, his life is stable now and how many 20 year olds have that? he has great and loyal friends and a loving family, as well. tell your friend to be thankful for each new day and try to find new things to be thankful for, like having a friend like you! you obviously seem to care a great deal about this person-remind him why you two are friends.
