i use pro active and love it it does take more time than usual (probably a week or two to see an actual result but if she uses it daily like recommend it works wonders. i have ahd facials before and they have all stated its from bad eating habits and also skin care, she should be washing her back during every shower sometimes at that age they just dont wash very well get her a really good smelling body wash and one of those poof things that has a long handle so she can wash her back. also she may be breaking out because of the face wash or body wash she is using. she needs to be washing all the dead skin off her face and back which is what causes acne. wash wash wash!!! hope this helps her i know how hard it is to have acne and also how embarresing!

I used Neutrogena Acne Body Wash for my back, and wiped my back twice or 3 times daily with Maximum Strength Salicylic Acid acne pads (Noxema and several brands make them)....have her do something simple like that for now.

One more recommendation (although people may get offended by this)...If her acne persists and becomes unmanageable, I would eventually put her on Ortho Tri-Cyclen. It is a birth control pill that is proven to treat 9 out of 10 suffering from acne. I am on it and it has done wonders! But she is 14, so that would be something you'd have to discuss with her. It may be an uncomfortable decision to make, but talk to a doctor about it.

I have been to dermatologists in the past and they have given me 7 prescriptions to use every day, and as busy as a teenager's schedule is, I never had the time to use them the right way. The pill is much more convenient for me, it's once a day, and results are usually seen by the 3rd month taking it. Best of luck!!

Proactive is good, but like any acne solution, it's going to take at least two months before you see any results, but if she keeps it up, it can be gone forever
