Undoubtedly the majority of fans who dislike Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson are Junior fans. Will they accept their hero standing next to the two drivers they despise the most? Or will they understand that having their hero in the company of those two championship-winning drivers also represents the best chance they'll have to share in the celebration of an Earnhardt victory? After Earnhardt made it known that he might not renew his contract with DEI, rumors that he could be headed to Hendrick Motorsports erupted after the Samsung 500 at Texas Motor Speedway in April when Earnhardt jumped into Busch's Chevrolet to finish the race after his own car was retired. Whether Earnhardt Jr. takes his cousin and crew chief Tony Eury Jr. with him to Hendrick or inherits Alan Gustafson – or if there's a shakeup within the Hendrick organization and he gets someone like Darian Grubb or even Chad Knaus as his crew chief – Earnhardt will have all the tools he needs. And he has shown he is able to win races when given a car that is capable of doing so.

Why should it matter what team he races for. I don't like Gordon or Johnson either but in all reality the three are actually friends so if Earnhardt likes them then why do we hate them. I just don't like the way they complain all the time; they are great drivers though. I won't like him any less. I'm just glad he's happy with the switch. He just couldn't quit smiling about it. You were probably never a fan to begin with if you're going to quit on him so easily. You should be happy for him. He and Gordon and Johnson are teammates now, so big deal, they're still competitors with each other out for the same goal, to win, at least now Jr. has more of a chance now that he's out of Teresa's clutches.

Fans are funny they may or may not stick with him.
The only thing reading some of these answers is that some must not watch the races as Bud has a contracr DEI not Jr. so that is not why Gibbs did not sign him. Jr is an average driver who will never be as good as his father. Just look at past 2 seasons and his own team mate has better pit stops, NO not because of crew chief. With Gordons & Johnsons ego's do not believe it will help Jr at all.

Im just as big a Jr fan as the next person, but this is a hard pill to swallow. I have never liked Rick Hendrick or most people who have drove for him. He has created a monopoly within Nascar, that has made it very hard for anyone to beat. Many people will look at Jr as a sellout. Selling out to win championships and races. If you cant beat them join them.

Dale JR's true fan base will stick behind him no matter who he drives for. Why hate him or turn on him for trying to pursue and achieve his and his fathers goals in the racing world, even if it means him driving for someone other than D.E. I. I personally can't stand Jeff Gordon or Kyle Bushe, but think Dale JR. and Jimmie Johnson would be devastatingly strong together on the track. Besides is it JR.'s fault Gibbs racing won't sponsor him with the beer label? Love Stewert, but Gibbs has issues, after all sure he has taking his share of winnings over time from sponsers like bud and such.

Like others have said true fans will stick with him, I know I will... I'm a fan of Dale Jr, not his CAR OWNER! I could care less who he drives for as long as they are giving him the best opportunity to win... Just cuz Jr. drives for Hendrick doesn't mean I have to root for his teammates...

The true Jr. fans will stay behind him, which is exactly where he likes to take it. The ones who were on the fence with Jr. will now despise him, because he's now at home with those little prissy boys. I'm glad Kyle is leaving that F'n old man. He'll prove he can win no matter what team he's on.

You are not a big Jr. fan! A true Jr. fan would stick by his side no matter where he went. I for one will be stickin behind my man, although it will be tough for me to sallow the first couple races of next year till I get use to it, but dont forget, he hasnt made no announcement yet. The media loves to pull things from the sky. I will always follow my man, even if he went to a ford(YUK)!

So you said Im a BIG JR FAN but you wont root for him anymore if he goes with HENDRICKS? that is dumb. i personally HATE Jeff Diaper Bi%&h Gordon and his mini me Bi%&h Jimmie Johnson but I think Jr will be at his best with Hendricks if that is where he ends up. I would have loved to see him race with his best friend Tony Stewart but the whole deal with Gibbs and beer (whatever Joe Gibbs) Im sure if you never saw pole money from bud or anything like that you wouldnt take it. gee dont gibbs cars have the bud pole sticker on it? wow bud. at least when petty enterprises said no beer they wont even put the bud pole sticker on their cars. less then 6 hours till we know for sure. GO JR.
