You seem to have already answered your own question. Honestly I dont see a 5'6 125lb person having a huge belly. If you are meaning you don't have that six-pack abs, thats a different question.

But running or any cardio helps keep your weight down. Also add some weight training in there and you will be good to go. Gaining muscle is a huge way to burn calories because even when muscle is at rest, it burns calories, where as fat does not. Combine the two with a diet that is not high in fat and calories and you should lose weight. It may not be directly from your trunk area though, but it will help.

The experts say that the best ab workouts are useless unless you get some good cardio in with them so running definetly helps. Your abs are a unique muscle that can be worked out everyday due to their quick recovery rate. The best thing to do is get in the routine of doing sit ups or crunches in the morning and before you go to bed. Crunches are done properly by pretending you have a cup on your stomache and when you do the crunching motion you are trying to raise and lower it without spilling it. This will help you to get the slow concentrated burn. Also there are some good workouts you can do using a chair by holding the side of the chair and extending your legs out and bringing your knees back up towards your shoulders. Also one of my favorites is leg raises. You can do it on a machine at your local gym or at any place you can do pull ups. The only downfall with doing it pull up style is that you also have to support your bodyweight with your arms. The exercise is simple just hang your legs with your feet together then keep them straight and lift them to a 90 degree angle with your body. If you are looking to get that killer six pack then try to search for the 300 workout Gerard Butler did for the movie. That will get you them Spartan abs in no time.

sit ups wont help - they build muscle so will make your belly look bigger since there is gona be more muscle underneath the layer of fat. sit ups do NOT burn fat.
the only fat burning exercise is cardio
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Well..There are some easy things you can try.
1. Don't lie down immediately after a meal. Walk about until you feel...a little lighter..not so full.

2. Try stomach crunches.. Stand behind a chair...Hold the head of the chair...breath in and squat a little like bending your knees..but only as comfortably as you can.. You will feel your stomach muscles tightening..straighten up slowly..breathe out.. Do about five times. You can do this anywhere..at home..in the garden..etc..

3. Try Chinese herbal detox tea...

4. Go to the toilet regularly.

5. Have a cut of period....don't eat or snack late at night..stop eating after ...maybe..8.30p.m or at least 3 hours before bed time.

Hope these help. Good luck..and stay healthy.

If you smoke stop smoking because it stunts your growth and you need all the height you can get because if your tall. All the fat just equals out throughout your body so everything is even and you don't even have to work for anything.
But your not tall are you? So I reccomend you just to eat lots healthy foods like brocolli and spinach like that Popeye The Sailor Man cause he's awesome.
You should get a personal trainer too, because he can be the one that can guide you to a happy and healthy life.

Theres no exercise that can target a specific area for fat loss - this includes sit-up's which work muscle.

Focus on your diet aiming for overall fat loss and the fat on your stomach will diminish through time. Be sure to avoid fatty foods.

you're A-ok where you're at. but if you're concious about a belly or "gut" (as i am about mine) then there are several contributing factors to consider. 1) stress. i have belly fat from unneccessary stress and 2) fat intake. endulge a little more than normal? Fast food and high sugar intake can be a added factor. 3) age. we tend to slow our metabolic rates as we become more pre-occupied with a life less active than when we were kids.

daily exercising and strolling will actual do away with abdomen fat. Going for a walk after a huge meal or taking section in a dessert is in no way a bad concept. whilst Natasha and that i've got been in Europe, we ate our honest share of cuisine, yet we didn’t benefit a unmarried pound—in actuality, we extremely lost weight—using fact we walked everywhere. We walked from the prepare station to our hotel, and from our hotel to the eating place, and from the eating place to the museums, and from the museums to the…properly, you get my element.

Decaf coffee is a superb low-calorie fluid when you're having cravings (and an incredible source of antioxidants).

Use a vegetable bean dip for example hummus instead of ranch dressing or possibly a fatty cream-based dip.
