Eat frequent meals. Little, healthy meals. It keeps your metabolism going all day.

Also, eat as soon as you can when you wake up in the morning. Don't wait, and don't skip breakfast.

Think of your metabolism as a machine, and food is the fuel. You have to put in fuel, or it won't run. The sooner in the day you can add fuel and get the machine running, the better it will run. Also, keep adding small amounts of healthy fuel (healthy snacks and meals) throughout the day to keep the machine (your metabolism) going.

Don't eat the 2 hours before bed though. Just drink water.

One way or trick that I have found works to increase the metabolism is to do your cardio workouts in the morning. Ideally I would walk on the treadmill or stair stepper at a moderate pace for 45 minutes in the morning (moderate pace meaning that I was breaking a good sweat but could maintain a conversation if necessary (Too fast of a pace and you will burn carbohydrates instead of fat). The benefits to this are that you not only increase your metabolism, you also will feel better too.

Colder the water the more increase your metabolism will come...

I hope you are thirsty because you need to drink at least a gallon of cold water everyday

Most of us are already aware that our bodies are mostly made up of water. So much of it that approximately 65 percent of our bodies is water. The brain uses it, the organs, the skin, bones and even the way nutrients and waste are passed in and out of the cells. Drink too little water and you may be at risk for headaches, muscle cramps, dizziness, constipation and other nasty symptoms. However, if you drink an adequate amount of water you gain some great benefits such as a clearer mind, more energy and even help your body metabolize body fat.

As a general rule I try to start out at a gallon a day and move up from there. Yes it is difficult at first but in a short amount of time your body will adapt. I have also added an extra step to my water consumption by drinking it ice cold. You not only get the benefit of metabolizing body fat by drinking a gallon of water a day but you also get an extra benefit with cold water by expending more calories trying to warm it up.

Our metabolism is the sum total of energy activities of the body such as the building up phase (anabolism) and the breaking down phase (catabolism). Green tea and other herbal extracts are rich in antioxidants and vitamins & certain minerals. When we consume Green Tea for a considerably long time our body is said to be cleansed from toxins, free radicals and pathogens to some degree. Our body cells function at an optimum rate and energy expenditure increases. So Green Tea indirectly helps in increasing metabolism, although in a very slow and subtle manner.

Physical activity is the only answer. No one has been born with a slow metabolism, and it's been proven. Avoid junk food, that only slows it down. Eat veggies, protein, dairy, fruits, that helps in boosting. But always add physical activity, for at least 30 or more minutes into each day.

You bet there is a way. Start exercising. If your out of shape, don't worry. Start slow and for short times and build up. In a months time, if your consistent, you will see your metabolism increase.
